The Academy of World Languages, a Community Learning Center Institute partner site, is hosting a groundbreaking ceremony on February 8, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. to launch the costruction of a 5500 sqaure foot health hub. Building upon the success of the school based health partnerships at the Oyler Community Learning Center, another CLCI partner site, the new AWL Health Hub will provide comprehensive medical, vision, dental and mental health care with full-time, on-site staff. The Hub will also house interpreters and caseworkers to aid in the resettlement and well-being of the refugee children and families at AWL and throughout the city, as well as the neighborhoods surrounding AWL. The cost of the construction has been made possible through very generous donations, including grants from the City of Cincinnati, Delta Dental Foundation, Interact for Health, Henry Schein, the Cincinnati Dental Society’s Oral Health Foundation, and the Robert and Adele Schiff Foundation. Construction is expected to be completed before the 2018-19 school year.
