CELC / July, 2016
Roberts Community Learning Center, the Community Learning Center Institute, 4C for Children, and CELC have launched a new, parent-focused program. The goal is to strengthen the early developmental learning for children in Price Hill. Called Kaleidoscope Play and Learn, this program is designed to enhance young children’s (birth to 4 years old) early development foremost by growing their parents’ knowledge and competency to be their child’s first teacher. Parents spend 90 minutes a week with their child, a bilingual CELC educator, and CELC facilitators providing activities and support. All learning is focused and aligned to the Common Core State of Ohio Standards. In addition to the Kaleidoscope Play and Learn sessions, parents are welcomed and encouraged to use the Roberts Community Learning Center services that include an on-site health clinic, dental care, adult English classes, and other programs to ensure healthy, stable, and enriching conditions necessary for on-track development and kindergarten readiness. This program will run year round.

It does indeed take a village to raise a child and all of us at CELC are honored to be part of the families’ village.
