Discover schools as vibrant hubs where learning and community come together.

Strong Schools. Strong Communities.

Our Vision

The Community Learning Center Institute is a leader in leveraging public school facilities as hubs for educational, recreational, cultural, health, and civic partnerships that optimize the conditions for learning and catalyze community revitalization.

Our Mission

The Community Learning Center Institute facilitates ongoing engagement across the Greater Cincinnati community to advance all schools as Community Learning Centers, each supported by financially sustainable, co-located partnerships that reflect the vision and needs of the school and its neighborhood.

A Community Learning Center:

A Neighborhood Hub

With fidelity to Cincinnati Public Schools' policy, CLCI is the lead agency at six CPS Community Learning Centers: Academy of World Languages, Mt. Airy, Mt. Washington, Oyler, Roberts, and Sayler Park.

A Community Learning Center (CLC) is much more than a school. It's a vibrant neighborhood hub designed to strengthen connections between families, schools, and communities.

Each Community Learning Center is responsive to the needs and vision of its community and school. The partnerships at each site can include school-based health centers (primary care, dental, and vision), mental health services, out-of-school-time enrichment, college and career access, early childhood programs, housing, neighborhood vitality, and more!

National Leaders

CLCI’s work focuses on the local implementation and building capacity of all community learning centers in Cincinnati, Ohio. With more than two decades of experience in this field, CLCI is known for its innovation and best practices across the country. CLCI has become a leader in the state and has influenced many other initiatives nationwide, including New York, Philadelphia, and many more!
