On November 7, 2013, the Griffin’s Editor in Chief, Emily Offenbacker was honored as a finalist in the Youth category for the Duke Energy Cincinnati Children’s Museum’s Difference Maker Award. She was nominated for her service in the community as well as the School. In addition to serving as the Editor in Chief of the Paper, she is also active in the community. She is President of the Youth Leadership Team, and she organized a photography event to provide portraits for families in the Lower Price Hill community.

The entire Griffin staff and advisers attended the banquet at the Cincinnati Museum Center as guests of Darlene Kamine, the Director of the Cincinnati Learning Center Institute and a founding supporter of the Griffin. Offenbacker was one of four finalists in the Youth category.

In a video introducing the four finalists, Offenbacker’s service was noted. She was recognized for her leadership in establishing the Griffin as a reliable source of news and information for the School and the Lower Price Hill community.
