The Junior League of Cincinnati has been an important partner in the development of community learning centers in Cincinnati. From the launch of MindPeace which is an essential part of the community learning center infrastructure, to the Adopt a Class teams at the Academy of World Language, the JLC has been integrally involved with the CPS community learning centers for more than a decade. Over the past year, the League has been instrumental in two major, innovative partnership initiatives. As the convener and one of the founding members of the Children’s Oral Health Network, the Junior League was vital in the launch of the first co-located, comprehensive and financially self-sustaining dental clinic at Oyler Community Learning Center this school year. Additional clinics are in development. As a result of their involvement with the Academy of World Languages, the League is also leading the development of a refugee resettlement infrastructure for the city.
