On March 4, 2015, Councilmember Sittenfeld joined Cincinnati Early Learning Centers, Oyler School, members of the Lower Price Hill Community and the Schiff family to cut the ribbon on the expanded Robert & Adele Schiff Early Learning Center in Lower Price Hill.
The expansion doubles the number of quality early childhood seats available at the CELC facility in Lower Price Hill. In addition, the rehabilitated building adjacent to the school offers community meeting space in this densely populated neighborhood. The historic structure was formerly abandoned and vacant, a haven for criminal activity, and a blighted eyesore next to a children’s sprayground.
Councilmember Sittenfeld was instrumental in cutting through the red tape involved with the project. “The most powerful, long-lasting investment we can make is in our community’s young people,” Sittenfeld says. “The expansion of this early childhood learning center is going to dramatically change lives for the better and drive ongoing neighborhood revitalization.”
