Carlos Guzman, the Community Learning Center Institute Welcome Center Director at Roberts Academy, will receive the Community Ally of the Year award from the English Language Learning Foundation at a ceremony on February 29,2024 at Northern Kentucky University.
The mission of the ELL Foundation is to help English learners become successful in their academic lives while honoring their cultural identifies.
The ELL Foundation awards the Community Ally of the Year award to a local individual or organization that promotes the values of the English language Learner Foundation of diversity and inclusion, educational equality, multilingual literacy, dignity of all people, and resilience, and social justice. Guzman was chosen for the award as” his work through the Community Learning Center Institute at Roberts Academy Welcome Center truly embodies the spirit of our values.”
