Darlene Kamine – Executive Director
From 2000 – 2010, Darlene Kamine led the Cincinnati Pubic Schools’ (CPS) Community Learning Center initiative. In 2009, Kamine founded the Community Learning Center Institute to continue to support and promote this approach to academic reform and community revitalization. Kamine is an attorney and former juvenile court magistrate. She is the founder of ProKids, a guardian ad litem program for abused and dependent children in the child welfare system, co-founder of the Cincinnati Children’s Museum, and co-founder of the Immigrant and Refugee Law Center. Kamine graduated from Brandeis University and received her law degree from the University of Denver College of Law.
Annie Bogenschutz – Director of Training and Development
Annie Bogenschutz joined CLCI in 2012 after more than a decade of involvement in Cincinnati’s Community Learning Centers. Prior to joining CLCI, she held the position of Resource Coordinator at Ethel M. Taylor Academy which was recognized as a Coalition for Community Schools National Award of Excellence. Bogenschutz earned her degree in social work from Xavier University.
Jami Luggen – Resource Coordinator, Oyler Community Learning Center
For almost twenty years, Jami Luggen worked in banking and private industry. Just before her start as a Resource Coordinator at Oyler School Commuity Learning Center in 2009, Luggen worked in Human Resources for a large corporation. Her undergraduate degree is in business management and she completed her Master’s Degree in Business from Thomas More College.
Nikki Marsksberry – Resource Coordinator, Mt.Washington Community Learning Center
Prior to joining CLCI in July 2002, Marksberry was the Community Coordinator at Sands Montessori, a premier CPS magnet school. For most of her earlier career, she worked in marketing and fund development. She attended Mt. Washington School and served on the Mt .Washington Community Council. Marksberry graduated from the Northern Kentucky University with a degree in journalism.
Tracy Power – Director of Family Partnerships and Programming
Tracy Power joined the Community Learning Center Institute as the first Resource Coordinator for the Roberts Paideia Academy Community Learning Center in the spring of 2010. Power is now the first CLCI Director of Family Partnerships and Programming, working with each CLCI site to expand the scope of the school as a hub for families and community. Power has a B.A. with a major in organizational leadership from Northern Kentucky University and a Master’s of Public Administration with a concentration in Community Planning and a Certificate in Nonprofit Management from NKU.
Joy Rosebrook – Resource Coordinator, Sayler Park Community Learning Center
Joy Rosebrook began as the Resource Coordinator for Sayler Park at the start of the 2016-17 school year. Rosebrook was a police officer with the Cincinnati Police Department and then worked internationally with Athletes in Action .Prior to joining CLCI, Rosebrook worked in volunteer development for City Gospel Mission. Rosebrook graduated from the University of Cincinnati with a B.S. in Criminal Justice and earned her Master of Arts in Religion from the Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary.
Jill Smith – Resource Coordinator, AWL Community Learning Center
Jill Smith became a Resource Coordinator at the Academy of World Languages in the spring of 2010 after a decade of nonprofit leadership. She was the Executive Director of the Center for Peace Education and then worked for four years for KnowledgeWorks Foundation and its subsidiaries. Smith also has a long career of community service and was recognized by Xavier University with the 2010 Magis Award for her outstanding work in “seeking peace and improving the world through education.” Smith graduated from Xavier with a B.S. in psychology.
TJ Smith – Resource Coordinator, Mt. Airy School Community Learning Center
TJ Smith came to CLCI in March, 2012 after more than a decade in college access and advising. Most recently, Smith was the Lead College Access Specialist for the University of Cincinnati GearUp Program, and she served as a Student Services Advisor at Ohio Univesity, a Program Coordinator for the Ohio State University Young Scholars Program and an Academic Advisor at Cincinnati State Technical and Community College. Smith earned her degree from Ohio University in Journalism and Communication.
Adelyn Hall – Director of School-Centered Neighborhood Development
Adelyn Hall is leading the School House initiative, a school centered community revitalization initiative. Hall joined CLCI in 2015 upon completion of her Master’s Degree in Community and Regional Planning from the University of Cincinnati. Hall served in the Peace Corps in Swaziland, Africa as a Community Development and Health worker. She earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Washington.
