Roberts International Welcome Center will receive this year’s Make a Difference AWard from the Engligh Language Learning Foundation on February 21, 2019 at the Northern Kentucky Convention Center.
Roberts Paideia Academy Community Learning Center, located in Cincinnati’s Price Hill neighborhood, serves as a hub to meet family needs of the entire community. As those needs have evolved, so have the center’s services. Students and families at Roberts come from more than 20 countries. The Roberts Welcome Center supports them with adult ESL classes, interpretation assistance, information on finances, health, employment and educational and social resources. Recently, the center also became home to the new Immigrant and Refugee Law Center, which provides legal assistance to families.
The Community Learning Center Institute has been the lead agency partner for Roberts since its establishment as a community learning center and Tracy Power, the CLCI Resource Coordinator, has developed a team of more than two dozen partners serving the Roberts children and families and the broader community. The Roberts International Welcome Center is headed by Antonio Fernandez, also a member of the CLCI team.
